As per last year, once a week during the month of October we will suggest a Halloween horror movie. Something for the night. Something terrible. No, wait. Something awesome. This year, we're looking at movies that have a strong female presence. But not something lauded and mainstream, of course.
The Cook... hold on. TCTTHWAHL (easier) is a shocking movie, never classed as horror. It's a love story, that which is between a gangsters moll and a librarian. The performances of Helen Mirren, Michael Gambon, and Alan Howard, are startling. The direction of Peter Greenaway, perfection.
Horror? Maybe.
Monstrous? Without doubt.
It's an unmissable movie.
