This year has been a roller coaster of fantastic horror from the indie market. We have seen a deluge of amazing films from Jakob M. Erwa's HomeSick, through the outstanding Sequence Break, and the truly disturbing Becca Hirani vehicle, The Bad Nun. None have disappointed. But still, we have to choose.
Runner Up
"A man wakes up in a square of an unknown city again and again, after each failed attempt to escape four masked assassins. Through the never ending chase, he tries to recover his identity, and find out who set him up."
We were blown away in May when we were lucky enough to see Incarnation. A stunningly well made science fiction piece with overtones of horror all over it. The acting, writing, and direction are all sublime. This is one to see.
But...
Winner, Best Indie Horror Film 2018
Could it be anything else?

To win this fight Sam must battle his own inner demons and revert back to his violent past. In order to save the ones he loves a Demon must face a Demon."
The Demon Inside came as a surprise. We weren't expecting to see such a glorious display of horror comedy. Writer / director Joey Moran does a wonderful job in bringing a lively, fun, and grotesque amount of blood to the screen. It's not often that films stick with us so long after the viewing. And the fact that we would watch it time and again.
It's one top notch film in a year of top notch films.
We can only congratulate them.
