A boy is trying to find out about his family history and stumbles upon a town of lycans.
Review

The acting is pretty good from most of the cast. Stephen McHattie (Pontypool) is in there, Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Merritt Patterson (The Royals) is good, but lead Lucas Till (X-Men: Days of Future Past) lets the side down. It's like someone took Jared Padalecki and watered him down until he was tasteless. He's just...pretty. And sadly unable to carry the film.
The FX don't fair any better. Relying on CG for the werewolves - in the most An American Werewolf in Paris way possible - is a tired let down. It's not really horror, as claimed by IMDB, either. There's no blood and gore to speak of, and it certainly isn't scary.
Wolves very much comes across as a pilot for a TV show about a couple of young do-right werewolves traveling the US getting into shenanigans, which might have been a good show, running the 45 minute boundary, and being dropped mid-season, later to get a short but popular run on, oh, I don't know...Netflix?
For Twilight fans only.
