Review
Written under the pseudonym J.S. Wilson, writing and directing team Skyler Caleb, Woodrow Wilson Hancock III, and James Zimbardi have created an odd little film with
Awaken the Shadowman. Two brothers, played by James Zimbardi (Days of Our Lives) and Skyler Caleb (Visible Scars), seek their mother after her disappearance in a small town where everybody knows your name. Coming in at a flat 90 minutes the film plays out - and is titled as such - that this is either the first film in a trilogy or a TV pilot. The problem that the film suffers with is that nothing - and I mean nothing - happens until the last ten minutes.
Coming from the stable of
LOUD NOISES ARE SCARY film making, it sadly gets no where during its runtime. Which is frustrating, because across the board the acting is good, the direction fine, and the production quality is solid. It is actually good enough that I wanted more at the end - but it looks like there is no chance of ever seeing it.
I can't sadly recommend a film that goes no where.
